What's Art, What isn't

The question what is art, and what is not art is a difficult question to be faced with. The reason it is difficult is because it is very easy to decide what is art, but deciding what isn't is what's difficult.

In my opinion everything we consider art is art. Painting, clay, sculpting, drawing, pastels, and basically anything you create with your own hands. For example if you are outside and build a snowman, that is an example of art.

What isn't art is where i was stumped as to what to put. From what I can come up with is that if you copy someone's idea, then it is not artwork. Art is supposed to be original to everyone, and copying someones idea is not original. Another thing that is not art is when you trace over an original picture.

To me what is in between art and not, is photography. Since photography is not something you make with your own hands it can not be classified as art. It can be classified as art somewhat because it takes time and the photographers original eye, or point of view to take just the right photo.
