Jack Brubaker, artist review

Jack Brubaker is an artist located in Bloomington Indiana. Jack specializes in metal art, producing and selling such works as candle holders, wine racks, and furniture pieces. Jack has been a full time artist blacksmith since 1970, representing both Artist Black Smith Association Of North America, and the British Artist Blacksmith Association. In my opinion Jack's art is one of the coolest art works you can find for a few reasons. My first reason is that when people picture metal we picture something hard, rough, tough, and grimy. Jack's art works show that metal can be used to make something beautiful and earthly, considering most of his pieces are based on or include, traces of nature. For instance the detail of a railing he made for a customer, although made of dark metal he still finds a way to include nature.
Another reason I think jack's art is one of the coolest, is how he can take something so strong and make it look delicate. Like I said before he makes wine racks and candle holders, products like these cannot be bulky heavy pieces, and his are far from that.
In our school we have a welding and metal work shop, where I was able to try stuff such as welding and torch cutting. Once you do a bit of metal work you get a better appreciation for the work and technique that goes into making something like Jack's products.

My last reason for thinking Jack's art is one of the coolest is because the majority of art you see through history and present day uses paint and canvas, pencil and paper, and sometimes sculptures of clay and rocks. Jack's art is something so unique and out of the norm it grabs people's attention who are not normally interested in art.

These reasons are why I think Jack Brubaker makes some of the most amazing, and intriguing art to date.
